The land of the operettas! This tour takes you to a legendary world full of lakes and castles – and a memorable boat trip.
The Salzkammergut with its natural beauty and exceptional countryside hosted the Austrian Emperor Franz-Josef and his family for their summer vacations. Splendid hunts were held here by Salzburg's Prince Archbishops. Today the impressive hunting castle Fuschl, where the Prince Archbishops spent many seasons, is a luxury hotel.
St. Gilgen on Lake Wolfgang is a lovely picturesque village. Mozart's mother was born there. In St. Wolfgang there will be time to visit the famous winged Gothic altar by Michael Pacher and to see the "White Horse Inn". From St. Wolfgang we shall go on a 25 minute boat trip back to St. Gilgen.
You will be fascinated by the legendary Krottensee and Castle Hütterstein. The last stage of our tour is Mondsee. The everchanging scenery will make this tour an unforgettable memory!
